Based on your experience working within a team setting I’ve come to see many methods of communication or lake there of. From working with children in an after school program to children with autism and finally teens in major rival gangs. I learned communication in its various forms verbal or nonverbal is key, but may not always resolve issues.
When I was allocated a team that did not agree, I understood why but miscommunication can’t always be logically explained when emotions are at play. There for if a single individuals work may effect upcoming milestone/deadline and the project is potentially impacted I would try work with that individual one on one as a project manager. As a wise director of a nonprofit once said, “if there is an issue that is unresolvable within the team dynamic you may ask the individual to take some time to deal with their personal issues and find someone who can take over their role.”
If I was part of the team and not the project manager I would work with who I have to work with. Uncomfortable or not I have a job and I would focus on that.
