Meet-Ups
My first networking Meet Up was held in Santa Monica at “Head Space inc”, a doner of Codetalk. The event was organized by “Out-In-Tech” and had speakers from Head Space and “The Trevor Project”. The event was very well organized, it was catered and allowed guest to mingle prior to the group meditation. Once the meditation was over the speakers began. The conversations were educational and lead to volunteer opportunities. After the lectures there was more networking opportunities, at which point I met a women named Gillette. She was kind funny and welcoming, I felt put of place and nervous because I didn’t know the language. But as it turned out Gillette was a graduate of Codetalk and seemed happy to find out I would later be joining the program. Overall I took away a sense of community that wanted to share learn and develop.
