Considering my work history and newly developed and ongoing learning of Tech coupled with my skills and abilities. I find a variety of careers in Tech to be interesting. More specifically User Experience, Front-end developer, and Quality Assurance are field of Tech that I am interested in pursuing as a career.
Helping others is something I enjoy and UX is just that, it helps the User of the product or website have a better Experience with said product. Similarly a Front-end developer is at the front line of the User Experience because the website is usually the first interaction the user has with a product. This experience is extremely important because it has the potential to determine sales and further interaction with the website. If the user enjoys their experience they are then more likely to purchase goods and or services. Quality Assurance (QA) is the Tech career I find most interesting. Testing products, setting expectations and goals, making a test plan, executing manual test, identifying, reporting, and prioritizing are all skill I have acquired through my past work experience.
Because of this I chose Quality Assurance (QA) as a career I am most qualified for and would enjoy. Although a BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering 5+ years of Software QA testing experience with black and grey box functional testing experience of Agile methodologies are skills and education I would need to gain in order to qualify for a position as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Ring. By continuing the education CodeTalk has provided, in time and with hard work I will qualify for this position.
